You don't have to do anything you don't want to. But if you're concerned about computer security, as GSHADE does have elevated administration privileges, I and quite a few other people have swapped to ReShade.

Don't go in the discord and request it because said creator does not take feedback well and has had some colorful responses to people asking for a way to disable forced updates or to do a rollback. This means it's just 1 click to update GShade and presets. Does that sound worth it? I don't think there's any reason to inhibit preset updates if a person asks for a GShade update.
