Most parents would love their children to do what the parent asks, to follow directions and to not question their authority – understandable and important goals when raising children. However, this is not responsibility!! These behaviors would be classified as obedience. WebParental responsibility means the different responsibilities and duties parents legally have for the care, development and welfare of their children. It is defined in the Family Law Act 1975 as: “All the duties, powers, responsibilities and authority which, by law, parents have in relation to children.”
